Head of the Ukrainian Border Service: Kyiv does not confirm the construction of Wagner PMC camps in Belarus

Kyiv does not confirm the construction of Wagner PMC camps in Belarus, said Andriy Demchenko, head of the Ukrainian Border Service. However, he added that the possibility of this cannot be ruled out.

At the moment, we do not record such works. At the same time, this cannot be ruled out. Intelligence, including the State Border Service, is actively monitoring the situation in Belarus , Demchenko said.

Earlier, the press service of the Concord company published a statement by businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin that the Wagnerites  marched to demonstrate protest, and not to overthrow the government in Russia. According to him, otherwise PMC “Wagner” could be destroyed. Prigozhin noted that President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko extended his hand to the Wagner fighters and offered to find mutually beneficial solutions. After a conversation with the Belarusian leader, the columns turned around and went to the field camps.

U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Mark Warner said he saw reports pointing to Prigozhin’s possible whereabouts in Minsk.

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that he had no information about the whereabouts of a businessman associated with PMC Wagner. According to the Kremlin spokesman, he has no information that the entrepreneur came to Belarus.
