India’s top wrestlers have suspended their protests after a senior minister promised them a swift investigation into the sexual harassment allegations against their federation chief. The protesters have been camping in Delhi since April, demanding the arrest of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. An Air India plane has taken off with stranded passengers from a US-bound flight after its plane made an emergency landing in Russia. The Delhi-San Francisco flight had 216 passengers and 16 crew members on board when one of its engines developed a snag on Tuesday. A new study published in Lancet estimates that 101 million people in India – 11.4% of the country’s population – are living with diabetes. A survey commissioned by the health ministry also found that 136 million people – or 15.3% of the people – could be living with pre-diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of the condition.
