BJP MLAs Th Radheshyam and Karam Shyam recently resigned from the posts of advisor to the chief minister and chairman of the State Tourism Corporation, expressing disappointment with the state government’s functioning.
The Manipur BJP has called a high-level party meeting at the state party office on Friday to discuss the latest developments amid the recent resignation of BJP MLAs Th Radheshyam and Karam Shyam from the posts of advisor to the chief minister and chairman of the State Tourism Corporation, respectively.
Th Radheshyam and Karam Shyam were both Cabinet ministers in the previous BJP-led government under Chief Minister N Biren Singh till they were shunted out in a mid-term reshuffle. In video clips released on social media, both MLAs cited certain grievances, which included not being given any responsibilities.
Party sources said that Manipur in-charge Sambit Patra is expected to attend the meeting and CM Singh and party MLAs are also invited.
Meanwhile, BJP MLAs are camping in New Delhi, meeting central leaders and voicing their disappointment with the state leadership over the lack of decentralisation of power among ministers and MLAs.
A social media post by Union Minister of DONER B L Verma showed MLAs Th Radheshyam and Karam Shyam meeting him along with two other MLAs, Paonam Brojen of Wangjing Tentha, the chairperson of Manipur Development Society, and Khwairakpam Raghumani Singh of Uripok Assembly constituency, the chairman of MANIREDA.
